Jim Leach

Jim is the Co-Director of Wood & Wire and our chief designer. Since graduating with a Furniture and Product Design degree in 1996, he’s amassed 20 years’ experience in the design industry working for a number of major furniture design companies before creating Wood & Wire. Jim’s design style is very understated; he likes clean lines and functionality, and he’s inspired by Modernism and the work of Robin Day, who Jim is chuffed to admit he met a few times. His underlying drive for Wood & Wire is being able to make a positive difference to customers’ daily lives, producing products they love, and creating great relationships along the way.

Tim Shillitoe

As well as being Wood & Wire’s Co-Director, Tim has definitely got the skills.  He’s a qualified bench hand carpenter and joiner and has 18 years’ experience in these trades, ranging from domestic projects to commercial shopfits on a large scale. Tim’s all about accuracy, and he carefully accounts for every single millimeter and degree. Tim’s driven by ethical business practice and takes great pride in creating products that use responsibly sourced materials, are built to last and have been locally made, right here in Hebden Bridge.

Ben Palmer

Ben is our workshop apprentice and general thrill seeker. When he’s not in the workshop he’s found climbing and off road motorbiking. He’s currently studying Furniture and Cabinetry at Burnley College and within weeks of starting his course he won a regional cabinet making skills competition.

Kate Henderson

Kate is based at the Shop and Showroom and manages all the marketing, advertising, PR and customer enquiries.

Ako Shillitoe

Ako can sometimes be found in the shop, but she’s mostly got her nose buried in the company’s finances and order forms. And if she’s not doing that she’s scaling a rock face with her husband Tim Shillitoe.

Aya Tetlow

Aya helps out in the shop serving all our wonderful customers and is very good at making the displays look fabulous.

Annabelle Howard-Simpson

Another valued member of the shop staff, Annabelle has a good eye for design and is always good for some product advice and ideas.
